  • Osaka Castle Museum Colored Light-Up Display

    A colored light display will be held to announce the blooming of the cherry blossoms

    The Osaka Castle Museum will be illuminated in colored light to announce the arrival of spring on the same day that the cherry blossoms are observed to be blooming in Osaka (*) according to the blooming status of the cherry blossoms announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency.
    *The cherry blossom observation date as announced by the Japan Meteorological Agency as part of its seasonal plant observations.

  • Cherry Blossom Illumination 2024

    Enjoy Illuminated Cherry Blossoms at Night in the Nishinomaru Garden

    In the Nishinomaru Garden, located to the west of the Main Tower, about 300 Yoshino and weeping cherry trees will be in full bloom. During the Nighttime Cherry Blossom Viewing, the park will be specially open until 9 p.m., allowing you to enjoy the illuminated cherry blossoms and the Osaka Castle Museum.

  • Osaka Castle Forest Barbecue

    Paid Barbecue Area to be Set Up from Late-March to Mid-May 2024

    Although barbecues are usually prohibited in Osaka Castle Park year -round, for a limited time around the cherry blossom viewing season, a paid area where you can enjoy a barbecue will be set up. You can choose between a plan for renting only barbecue equipment, or a plan which includes a barbecue equipment rental as well as ingredients.

  • Osaka Castle Museum Special Exhibition

    [Special Exhibition] Kodai-in: The Spouse of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Ruler of Japan

    3F/4F Exhibition Rooms

    As the wife of Hideyoshi, Kodai-in, played a unique and significant role in protecting her family and retainers, and in matters related to politics. After Hideyoshi passed away, she lived in Kyoto praying for the repose of her late husband's soul, while also working together with Osaka Castle to ensure the survival of the Toyotomi family. Kodai-in passed away on September 6, 1624 (the first year of Kan'ei), at the age of 76. This exhibition will be held to commemorate the 400th anniversary of her death, and with the special cooperation of Kodai-ji Temple (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City), which is connected to Kodai-in, her personal belongings and related materials will be used to introduce Kodai-in’s activities.

  • Osaka Castle Museum – Museum’s extended opening hours for the cherry blossom season

    We will extend the opening hours of the museum for the cherry blossom season.

    During the cherry blossom season, the opening hours will be longer than usual. After going on an outing and viewing the cherry blossoms, please take your time to enjoy the panoramic view from the 8th-floor observation deck and the historical exhibits.

  • JO-TERRACE OSAKA

    This complex opened just in front of Osakajokoen Station on the JR Line. Based on the concept, “Take a walk and have a break in this greenery-rich castle town,” visitors are entertained by a variety of establishments, including restaurants and cafés, souvenir shops, a tourist information center, a support facility for runners who run in the Osaka Castle Park grounds, and a Pilates studio.

    MIRAIZA OSAKA-JO is a historical building which stands next to the Osaka Castle Museum. You can enjoy a barbecue on the rooftop with a view of the Osaka Castle Museum, or Italian cuisine on the second floor. The first floor is lined with Osaka souvenirs, snacks, and cafes.
