Alterations on dress with illusion fabric?

They were able to take in the back/straps of my dress, which had an illusion back. Your seamstress can your miracles, I promise!

Thank you so much it is similar to my dress, Sinead. I used a company called Anomalie to design my dress! I used the back and side cutouts of this gown as inspiration for my dress! I am going this Wednesday to have it taken in - so wish me luck! I was pregnant during my design process (gave birth to a baby boy in February) so because of that I wasn't able to go the traditional boutique route of trying and buying a dress for our September beach wedding. I also wasn't really able to find any one dress that had all the elements I was looking for, but I absolutely LOVE the dress the created for me. I kind of of had to estimate what my measurements would be since I submitted them at 4 weeks postpartum and luckily I was really close, so I only will need it taken in a couple inches I think!

I think you'll be fine to get it taken in. I actually changed dresses a couple of weeks ago and my new one has an illusion back - since it was SO CLOSE to my wedding I had to get the size off the rack that is one size too small. My seamstress is actually adding to my illusion back and moving the appliques. It's incredible what they can accomplish honestly!

Hi Sam! How are your alterations going?

Well just from the pinning I could see the dress will fit exactly how I intended!! She didn't express any concern with taking the dress in several inches either. She is also taking up the shoulders, adding a bit of my extra lace to give me more coverage over my side breast, raising the bust cup and adding a bustle! Oksana had really great reviews, which was why I chose her (and am traveling almost 2 hours back to my hometown to do them). Anyway, I'm getting all of that for under $250 so I'm pretty stoked! My second fitting is this Tuesday so I will be sure to check back in then!

It went so well! She is just sewing on my belt now and opening the arm holes a bit after raising the shoulders - I can't wait to wear it for the big day on September 5th I'll make sure to share a picture here!
