To show the difference between polyester staple fiber and filament

Polyester fiber is an important kind of synthetic fiber with the simplest process and relatively cheap price. It has become more and more popular because of its high modulus, high strength, high elasticity, good shape retention and heat resistance.

According to the different processing technology, it is divided into polyester staple fiber and polyester filament. Polyester staple fiber is a fiber obtained by spinning polyester and cutting tow. Polyester filament is made of polyester as a long filament, which is made of purified terephthalic acid (PTA) or dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and ethylene glycol (EG) through esterification or transesterification and condensation polymerization. The obtained fiber-forming polymer—polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a fiber made by spinning and post-processing.
