Nissan’s compact sedan offering, the Sylphy, has finally received a makeover. The Japanese carmaker has revealed the vehicle’s updated version in Singapore, and it flaunts a modernized face more in line with the rest of the company’s lineup.

As we said, the first thing you’ll notice is the drastically improved front end. The traditional grille with its three strips has been replaced with a new honeycomb design featuring a more dominating ‘V-Motion’ chrome accent. Foglights are now rectangular instead of round, and the character lines which drop down toward the lower fascia are now better defined.

The wheels have been replaced, too. The Sylphy now runs on a new five-spoke design that’s considerably more premium-looking than its predecessor’s. Overall, it’s a much more up-to-date look that those familiar with the nameplate will appreciate.

Other than the exterior, there are no notable changes to the vehicle. The interior still features the same chunky three-spoke steering wheel, the same dashboard and controls, and the same trim (although these shots from the Singapore website flaunt some attractive faux wood trim on the center console and door panels, as well as nicer seat fabrics).

The engine has been retained, too: It’s still a 1.6-liter powerplant capable of 114hp and 154Nm of torque.

No word yet on when (or if) this will arrive in the Philippine market, but we’ll be sure to update you guys if ever it comes up. So, what do you think of the Nissan Sylphy’s redesign?
