Characteristics of Marsilea Crenata
It is a water clover widely distributed in Southeast Asia and Australia (Northern, Northern and Central-Eastern Territory of Queensland). It is found in shallow water such as rice paddies.
This species cannot be clearly distinguished from Marsilea Minuta, and could even belong to that species.
In trade, the names Marsilea Crenata, M. Hirsuta, M. Exarata, M. Drummondii and M. Quadrifolia are often seen, however, it is not certain whether the respective plant was correctly identified. Most species of the genus Marsilea can only be safely identified in their emerged form through their sporocarps.
