Skype 6.11 for Android

Skype's Android app is getting a boost, with new features that help share and keep favorite moments.

Version 6.11 lets you manage conversations, save video messages, and perform enhanced searches.

If your Recents tab is becoming a bit unruly, simply long-tap any contact or chat to open a new toolbar, then choose to delete, mark as read, or mute notifications.

And the next time you receive a video message from adorable family members, or record one for a far-away friend, Skype will let Android owners save it to their phone's photo gallery. Just tap on it once, and you can rewatch any time.

You can also send images from your photo gallery directly to a Skype group conversation. Plus, folks in a group chat can now tap on pictures and files to forward them to another contact or group.

The same goes for Mojis: Tap on the clip to forward it to another friend or group. Even better, the short videos don't automatically play again when you forward them, so you can decide whether to rewatch or move on.

An enhanced search function, meanwhile, makes it easier to find conversation content, as well as contacts and group names.

"We're constantly listening to your feedback to help us improve Skype for Android," the company wrote in a blog post.

To share your thoughts and concerns in the mobile app, visit Settings > Feedback > Support in the upper-left menu.

Last month, Skype began rolling out the ability for users to invite anyone to join a chat as a guest by sharing a unique link via email, social media, or messaging services. A Skype account or app download is not required.
