FAQs on the revised parking coupons

The standard of living in Singapore is ever increasing. Even the cost of short-term parking has squeezed into the price-pushing pack. With effect from 1 December 2016, the rates for temporary parking have increased. The price to park a vehicle for half an hour has changed from 50 cents to 60 cents. In restricted zones and designated areas, the rate has moved up from $1.00 to $1.20 to park a car for the same duration. To stay consistent with the price hike, motorists will have to display new parking coupons, which are available in denominations of 60 cents, $1.20 and $2.40. For whole-day parking coupons, the new denominations are in $12 and $20. For night parking coupons, the denomination is in $5. Here are some of the common questions that you may want to know about the new carpark coupons:  Q: I do not have the new coupons. If I park at a carpark which charges 60 cents per half-hour, can I use two pieces of the old, 50-cent coupons, as substitute? A: The relevant authorities, for a temporary period of time, will be issuing advisory notices to motorists who are found to be using the old carpark coupons. This is part of a move to ensure that all motorists are made aware of the revised parking charges. Q: I have been given an advisory notice for using the old coupons. Will I get a summons if I am caught again? A: Motorists who have previously been issued with an advisory notice will be issued with a parking offence notice if they are found to be using old carpark coupons. Q: Where can I buy the new coupons? A: The new parking coupons are sold at various joints. These include petrol stations and mini-marts such as Cheers and 7-Eleven stores. The coupons can also be purchased from all Housing & Development Board (HDB) Branches and Service Centres (except the Tampines Branch) and The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Centre. Q: Where can I exchange my old parking coupons for the new ones? A: Motorists can exchange their old parking coupons at any HDB Branch / Service Centre (except the Tampines Branch) or The URA Centre, and obtain the new ones by topping up the monetary difference. Motorists can also get cash refunds for their old coupons at these places. Between 1 December 2016 and 31 January 2017, motorists may exchange their old coupons at any of the 131 participating petrol stations (except for Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC) petrol stations). While SPC petrol stations do not offer any exchange of carpark coupons, motorists can still purchase new ones there. Q: Is there a limit on how many old parking coupons I can exchange at a go? A: At Caltex and Esso petrol stations, motorists can only exchange up to $100 worth of old coupons for new ones. At Shell stations, each motorist can exchange up to 30 pieces of parking coupons at any one time. Exchanges at Shell petrol stations are available only from 10am to 5pm daily, except on the eve of and on public holidays. Q: Is there a cut-off date to exchange my old coupons? A: The participating petrol stations will end their coupon-exchanging services on 31 January 2017. There is, however, no deadline for exchanges at any of the HDB Branches / Service Centres (except the Tampines Branch) and The URA Centre.

The transaction was very smooth from the minute I get on to their website trying to sell my car till the car ownership transferred and have the money paid by Pay Now into my account. It only takes less than 3 days. The person attending to me are very professional, Jon at the phone in their office and Sean Tan who came down to view and test the car. I am very happy to have decided to sell my car through "One Shift By Carousell"
