Authentic Indian cuisine on the south side

I'm a big fan of Indian food, and tried Little India on the recommendation of a friend.
The buffet is a very reasonable price, but consider walking through before deciding. The staff can tell you which things are vegan. On the night I was there, it ended up being only 2 of the main dishes that were vegan, so I probably would order off the menu in the future instead of off the buffet if choices are limited.
Of the dishes I did try (samosas, rice, saag curry, a soup) I found them all to be flavorful with a bit of spice.
Overall, a good experience.

Pros: authentic cuisine, good flavors, friendly staff

Cons: buffet has limited vegan options

Authentic

The most authentic Indian food I have had in Edmonton, and the atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel like you are actually in India. The place is owned by the New Asian Village franchise but caters toward a clientele that wants authentic Indian food and atmosphere over commercialized food and atmosphere that their sister restaurant offers.

The portions are huge, meals are cheap and there is no shortage of super flavourful vegetarian food, many of the choices are in fact vegan. The buffet is $15 for all you can eat, including salad and desserts (not vegan). The very friendly staff are happy to point out the vegan dishes. The samosas ARE A MUST, spicy, huge and only $1. Enough said, go there if you like real Indian food.

Pros: Delicious, Inexpensive, Very authentic
