Sydney Sweeney is booked and busy, and we couldn't be more excited for her!

In a post shared to her Instagram account, the 25-year-old actress delightedly announced that she is set to star in the new Barbarella movie as the popular titular character. And that isn't it. Sydney will also executive produce the Sony Pictures movie, proving just how far she has come in Hollywood in a few short years. Impressive!

Not much else is known about the reboot, but the 1968 movie starring Jane Fonda and directed by Roger Vadim, became an instant cult classic. The science fiction flick is based on Jean-Claude Forest's French comic book series. It follows the story of a 41st-century astronaut who sets out to stop evil scientist Durand Durand from taking over the galaxy with his Positronic Ray.

Barbarella, who is dubbed the "the most beautiful creature" of the future, is set to be the perfect next project for Sydney Sweeney, who was double nominated for her work in Euphoria and The White Lotus this year.

While announcing the news on her social media platform, the Washington native wrote: "Time to save the universe". And her 14.3million followers, including her celebrity pals, couldn't agree more. Nicola Peltz Beckham commented: "Perfection!" Her former The Handmaid's Tale co-star Amanda Brugel added: "Exactly, baby girl. Yes."

It also seems that Sony Pictures are particularly fond of Sydney's talents, as they have already brought her on aboard to star in Marvel's Madame Webb opposite Dakota Johnson and has reportedly signed on for the studio's film adaptation of the book, The Registration.

Meanwhile, despite Sydney's massive success in the entertainment business, she recently came clean about her worry about rent payments because of the amount of money she has to pay her team.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sydney said she has not yet made enough money to take a six-month break from acting should the need arise. "They don't pay actors like they used to, and with streamers, you no longer get residuals. If I wanted to take a six-month break, I don't have the income to cover that. I don't have someone supporting me, I don't have anyone I can turn to, to pay my bills or call for help."

Here's how she broke it down: "The established stars still get paid, but I have to give 5% to my lawyer, 10% to my agents, 3% or something like that to my business manager. I have to pay my publicist every month. That's more than my mortgage."

"If I just acted, I wouldn't be able to afford my life in L.A.," she said of deals like her Armani beauty campaign and brand ambassadorship for Miu Miu. "I take deals because I have to," she continued. "I couldn't believe I was even able to buy a house. I want to be able to stay there."
