Bigg Boss Tamil fame actress Vanitha Vijaykumar enters TV show ‘Maari’; here's what the actress has to say

The popular TV show 'Maari' enjoys a good fan base and receives a good response from the audience. In order to spice up the drama, the show's makers have roped in actress Vanitha for a new track. She will soon join the show, which tops the TRP chart, outshining other prime-time TV serials.
Talking about the new appearance in the show, Vanitha Vijaykumar said, “I am really happy to be a part of such a wonderful serial as Maari.Thank you to the director V. Sadhasivam and Vasudevan sir for giving me this great opportunity, also really eager to act with such brilliant actors like Sona Heiden, Shiva Subramanian, Abitha, Delhi Ganesh, and Saira Banu. And definitely, I will give my best in the show and keep supporting.”

On the career front, Vanitha made her acting debut in the film Chandralekha (1995) directed by Nambirajan. And she subsequently appeared alongside Rajkiran in Manikkam (1996), before moving on to act in the Malayalam film Hitler Brothers (1997). As film offers began to reduce, Vanitha worked as a costume designer for her sister Preetha's films and also she worked as an assistant director to P. Vasu during the making of Kakkai Siraginilae (2000). After her first marriage to Akash, Vanitha quit the film industry.

In 2019, Vanitha appeared in the Tamil reality television show Bigg Boss Tamil 3. She was the second contestant to be eliminated from the show. After a few weeks of requests from fans for Vanitha to enter the house as a wild card, and after she left the TRP rating was reduced, show makers sent her again as a contestant.
Vanitha appeared on season 1 of the Tamil Cooking show Cooku with Comali on popular Tamil TV and became the winner. She also later participated in the spin-off version show called Bigg Boss Ultimate (season 1) as a contestant.
She also appeared as a cameo appearance in the popular daily soap Pudhu Pudhu Arthangal.

TV show Maari premiered in July 2022. The serial stars Ashika Padukone, Adarsh, Sona Heiden, Shiva Subramanian, Abitha, and Delhi Ganesh in the lead roles and also has an ensemble cast including Saira Banu, Shabnam, Shyam, Meera Krishna, Mukesh Kanna, Tharun Appasamy, Nisha Yazhini, Ganesh, Anitha Venkat, and Deepa Nethran as the supporting cast.
The story is about Maari, a simple girl who comes from a small town. And the innocent girl experiences the boon and bane of her power of premonition. She goes on to marry Surya under unusual circumstances and turns out to be his savior.
