I’m not a super girly-girl, and I don’t wear a ton of make-up. So I knew that make-up tutorial videos existed, but had never really watched any. That being said, I can’t stop watching these tutorials.

Despite there being no dialogue or words of any kind, the videos are oddly engaging. Her facial expressions are adorable, the music is really lovely. The editing is clever too, so even though the videos are rather long and full of intricate, complicated little actions, the tutorials feel fairly fast.

Best of all, she makes it all look so easy. Watching this, I totally believe “Yeah, I can handle that! That looks totally doable!” Then I count the actual number of products and colors and items, and realize how incredibly steady her hand must be, and go back to just enjoying the show.

It’s also more than just make up. There’s hair tutorials, and even really crafty hints too! That flower wig with attached body suit and anklets won’t make itself, but with some silk flowers and a hot glue gun, you’re can do it!

Not all of her looks are outlandish–some are quite lovely and down to earth, like this sweet cherry blossom look. She uses tons of products, but still makes it all look so simple! The video is gorgeous too, filmed outside with actual cherry blossoms. Beautiful!

But still, haven’t you always wondered how to transform yourself into a Ganguro? I’m not really when is the appropriate event for transforming oneself into a flower garden, or a “swimming girl” or a Blue Android, but I like to imagine that every day is her own personal Halloween. And come to think of it, I did see a girl with a look as outlandish as this in Shinjuku’s Ni-chome on a Saturday night a few weeks ago…
