i have been trying to play battlefield 1942 and it doesn't work because of how gamespy was shutdown and i have been trying patches and downloads everywhere to try and fix the game and they don't work either i must say im close to giving up with this bs just give me anyway to play it patches downloads etc i don't really care about multiplayer much tbh
Note: i have found a way to play 1942 and i cant delete this discussion so please save your time and ignore it

I had to do something similar to play MoH:AA online as well.

Set to run as admin, compatibility for all users,
enable direct play in win 10.
Restart computer.

Thats what i read might help with the game

GameSpy servers have been shut down for a long time now. BF1942 uses GameSpy for its server browser. That's the issue.

There are community run servers, same for 2142, you have to download their server tool. If I had the link handy I would post it.

i gave up and i downloaded it off a a website with 4905839485938459384934584308 viruses i bet

Here is the easiest way for you to find Servers back in your Browser, overwrite you old "bf1942.exe" in your .....C:\Program Files\Battlefield 1942\ : https://www.moddb.com/games/battlefield-1942/downloads/bf1942-masterbf1942org-patch
