Ryoko Hirosue denies rumours of extramarital affair

9 Jun – Ryoko Hirosue's team has denied and apologised to the public over rumours that the actress has had an extramarital affair with MICHELIN chef, Shusaku Toba.

As reported on Hochi, on 7 June, the actress' studio expressed their apology to the public over the coverage of the allegation in the tabloids, saying that they will leave private matters up to the individuals themselves.

"We apologise for the trouble," the company added.

Earlier this week, a tabloid magazine alleged that Ryoko was seen visiting the MICHELIN-starred restaurant where Shusaku was working and then went to a luxury hotel. Ryoko was seen leaving at 3am, followed by Shusaku later at 9.

When asked about the affair, the "Beach Boys" star responded, "Absolutely not. I am a mother of three children!"

Meanwhile, Shusaku has cancelled his book promotion, which is to be held on 11 June.

Ryoko is married to candle artiste Jun Izutsu, of whom she met during an earthquake relief effort in Haiti in 2010. The actress also was married to model Takahiro Okazawa in 2003, though the marriage ended in 2008.
