First off: I know theories are on the “things to not talk about” list, but hear me out, i think i have a few things that havent been pointed out before/ theorized about.

Giygas IS the EB0 ship:

So, what if the EB0 Ship is actually… somehow… alive. A Bioship. and when Giygas goes back in the past, he uses the EB0 ship in its infancy as its host. (Hence the intestine lookin things!)

I haven’t heard this theory before, and wanted to share just in case it’s new.

I also have a Buzz buzz theory that’s probably been talked about before, but here it is anyway:

“A bee I am not… I’m from 10 years in the future. And, in the future, all is devastation… Giygas, the universal cosmic destroyer, sent all to the horror of eternal darkness…” * (M3’s ending = Eternal darkness) (Lucas sent all to darkness. Lucas = Giygas.)

M1 GBA ’Mato Translation:

Eve: MY NAME IS EVE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU. MY FATHER WAS GEORGE. HE WAS TAKEN TO THE ENDS OF THE UNIVERSE, AND THEN HE RETURNED HERE. MY DUTY IS TO PROTECT YOU.

N/A Translation:

Eve: MY NAME IS EVE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU. MY CREATOR WAS GEORGE… HE WAS TAKEN TO THE END OF THE UNIVERSE… THEN BROUGHT BACK LATER. I AM HERE TO PROTECT YOU. THAT IS MY PURPOSE.

George was taken to the end / ends of the universe (M3’s Eternal Darkness) (And then was brought back later / returned here)

Note: The wiki article refers to Giegue as Giygas in the following passage:

George and his wife are abducted from Earth by an alien race in the early 1900s. There, George studied PSI without the race’s permission, while his wife raised one of the aliens, Giygas; George later escapes back to Earth two years later without Maria, who is never seen again.

Once matured, Giygas is tasked by his people to ensure PSI never spreads onto Earth. However, Giygas does not want to betray those who raised him, particularly his beloved Maria, and in the end forces himself to detach from Maria and begin preparations for the aliens’ invasion.

Maria would sing her lullaby (her Eight melodies) to soothe Baby Giygas. Somehow, George betrayed them and learned PSI, and escaped back to Earth without Maria, who probably never escaped the alien planet/vessel/dimension.

Starman Jr is admitting Buzz Buzz used to be a hero… In addition, seems to knows him well.

Possible Theory: When George was abducted, he learned PSI… secretly.. UNLESS someone taught him in secret. Perhaps Starman Jr. Maybe Starman Jr feels bad about starting all of this and is trying personally to stop all of this from happening in any way he can.

When Buzz Buzz dies, he gives Ness the Sound Stone, the ability to soak up the melodies… Who knows the melodies better than -MARIA!-

Maria was never seen from again. She traveled with the aliens. Maybe even fought some off to become a hero. Maybe led a secret resistance. Perhaps, at the end of her life, sealed her soul in a robot beetle and kept leading the resistance… And at the end of the universe, went back in time to Ness to try and fix everything giving her the only thing that she knew worked. _ The melodies._

The only hole i can find with this is… buzz buzz is referred to as male, and maria is obv a girl. But who knows! Maybe robots are all referred to as “he”.

That and it’s explicitly stated in Mother 1 that Maria died and went off to be with George as soon as Magicant collapsed.

Maria specified that she was going to join George “in heaven”, indicating she knew he was dead and she, too, was dying:

in heaven now…

As this was a religious reference, it was censored in the official translation.

Buzz Buzz is also addressed as “Buzz Buzz” by Starman Jr., and because the game specifies, “Buzz Buzz joins you,” even before that, it is not merely meant as an insult. Therefore, Starman Jr. genuinely does believe his name to be “Buzz Buzz”, and it is also the name Buzz Buzz gives to you.

Therefore, any theory involving Buzz Buzz having some other identity before becoming Buzz Buzz has to acknowledge that Starman Jr. would not know about this former identity. It would also have to give some reason why Buzz Buzz would shed his former identity in the first place and take up a new name.

Also, Buzz Buzz specifies that his “darkness” is 10 years in the future from EarthBound. Unless Kumatora (the timer of the White Ship plan) is somehow below 10 years post-timeskip, the ending of MOTHER 3 cannot be the darkness Buzz Buzz spoke of. Besides, though the Player cannot see in this darkness, it is implied Duster can:

•You’re really cute, now that I look.

Furthermore, some unknown character asks you this,

???

•Watch where you’re walking!
Can’t you see where you’re going?

That implies this person can see at the end of MOTHER 3.

Hence, it appears that M3’s ending is not “eternal darkness” for the characters involved. Also, Starman Jr. came from 10 years in the future (Buzz Buzz’s future) to kill Buzz Buzz, yet there is no sign of Giygas or Starman Jr. in MOTHER 3.

Besides, Lucas is not Giygas in the first place.

Also, as the wiki is full of unfounded claims, it is best to use the main text itself as a source, rather than the wiki. It is unknown (there is no indication) whether George himself learned to use PSI (or if that is even possible), though he did research PSI at some point after returning to Earth. Nor is it known that Giygas was tasked with stopping the spread of PSI, especially as there is much evidence of PSI existing on Earth independent from the aliens.
