Overrated and not for the couch potato.
First, no matter which direction you enter from it's a hike. I walked in from Kent Park and a section of the elevated path was out. Walked the ground level and then followed the detour signs up the road to the top to get to the Wave.
It's a trex type material and with the moisture in the air can be slick. It leaves one park and crosses a large four lane highway into another park, Mount Faber. Here you hike uphill more to get to the cable car park. I didn't take it down as it goes across the river too far. So I took the stair trail down the small mountain.
Beautiful scenery. Don't get caught here in a heavy rain shower as branches may fall.Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 9Oh no 0 - Hang Chong Ivan T.Singapore, Singapore11329Jul 16, 2016
Though a man made bridge. Much like a Noah arks. Purpose is to link up 2 parks to build a complete park and cycling network for health and recreations activities. Day and night both have its superb view. Instead of the usual hype and tourist places, this is something special worth visit and the linking Alexandra Arc bridge (glow at night) and the steel walk above the trees from Alexandra Arc to Henderson wave. Next stop after will be the Mount Faber hill top which is a very windy(most of the time) and nice view.
Suitable : trecking folks and couple who may walk far
Challenge : complete the 4 hours walk at evening from Kenridge park all the way to mount Faber hill top !
(Malang walk has no lights and it's run down at night , not suitable to visit )
Enjoy the view at Henderson wave ! Both day and Night!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael D.Los Angeles, CA3139075Dec 31, 2017
This bridge is an architectural phenomenon. It's close to other hike trails which have amazing skyline views. It's a long wooden/steel bridge that overlooks the city and skylines. Definitely a place to check out for tourists.

You can either walk from Harbourfront via Mt Faber Park or Alexander Road (recommended) only if the weather is good as there is not much shelter along the way.
Best time is going is in the afternoon to catch the sunset, it offers quite a good view of the central part of Singapore. The walk across the bridge is breathe taking and even for someone who is nervous in height like myself, I find it to be enjoyable.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 14, 2013
A very cool architectural artwork.
This is a tourist attraction not to be missed. Part of the Southern Ridges park, it's nice to walk, hike, or just stroll along this beautiful structure and take in the scenary. Easiest way to get to it is using the cable car from Marina Bay MRT station, and take it to the hill top and walk up the ramp. Follow signs.
Lots of great photo opportunities.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 15Oh no 0 - Phillip N.Los Angeles, CA1251799783May 15, 2014
I love nature.
I loooooooove bridges.
I love heights.
I love being lazy.
I love sitting high above the ground - eating and drinking.
I came here twice because I love that it allows me to do all the things I love.
There are many ways that lead here. Some are really tough in the heat so come up the easy ways from the streets below it. And go down the easy way if it's late at night.
I came down the long way by going thru Mount Faber and down towards the HabourFront MRT. You'll be in a pitch dark black forest with monkeys that could attack.
I don't know why I had to go down that trail instead of taking a cheap taxi. Please be smarter than me.
Ohhhhh......I dream of just sitting on this bridge again sometimes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 215218930758Aug 6, 2013
Beware the monkeys at the beginning of the Henderson Waves (Telok Blangah Hill side) during the day. I have seen them snatched water bottles and stuff from unsuspecting walkers who sat down for a brief rest. They can be quite menacing when traveling in a group. I guess that is part of the charm of being in a nature park.
I think it is quite an awesome architecture to create the waves with wood. It offers a cool respite from the afternoon heat and is a nice place to just lay down and chill for a while. In the evening, you get to see the sky turns into a pink coral orange shade at dusk.
This is one of my favorite places in the 10 KM Southern Ridges walk.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Cheryl N.Singapore, Singapore118428252Aug 12, 2012First to Review
There are plenty of greenery in Singapore but Singaporeans really don't explore them much. It's an absolute waste really. Why not check out the NParks' Southern Ridges and Henderson Waves? Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore and it spans Henderson Road to connect Mount Faber Park to Telok Blangah Hill Park. Take a walk above the tree tops and be careful not to look down if you have a fear of heights.
I love the shell like wave structure of the bridge which doubles up as shelter to the public. I brought along a little picnic and we sat under the shade while we enjoy our nachos. We met more tourists and Caucasian families than Singaporean families, which is really a pity because it's a great place for the family.
At night, the bridge transforms into a romantic spot with the waveform illuminated with LED lights. Nice place to bring a date after dinner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scott G.Rockville, MD636476796Feb 7, 2018
Henderson waves is such a cool bridge with great views connects hiking paths. I prefer being there in the evening out of the sun because there is not a lot of shade to be had it can be quite hot. The view of the city from there in the evening is also quite beautiful.

Attractive bridge, but not really worth going out of your way for - unless your life just isn't that exciting! ;-)
To be fair, if you are used to city life and don't get out into the country much it might be for you, but if you are used to walking in the wilderness, then don't waste your time...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
