I have them intentionally in my paludarium and accidentally in a lot of of my plants! That is all it takes! Too easy! This week's focus is on CP propagation. Growing from seeds can be slow and have special requirements such as stratification. Better ways are often available and one of our Ace members, Merranda, has already published a brilliant guide which I will include below: https:// Leaf pull propagation can be a great insurance. So with my Cephalotus, I try to grab some leaf pulls (usually better than using pitchers) to have a backup plan if the mother plant suddenly dies for some reason. So some of the photos show my leaf pulls coloring up under grow lights. I am also propagating sphagnum moss and it's getting green. I will add some more information in the comments below. A Unique Name for a Unique Plant (CP) 👽 👾

Exciting news - it's twins 🌱🌱 So my new green friends want me to share that they are not just one plant🌱 but TWO plants!!! 🌱🌱 So when I went to inspect my new plant this morning, I found a tiny little separate plant 🌱with a ring of tiny tiny pitchers (sooo cute 😍🥰see photos top right corner). So that means I paid for one plant 🌱but ended up with two🌱🌱. And if I am careful to separate them, I'll now need two pots, not one! My population has already multiplied. Which is great as they can be hard to get and slow to grow (they're very unique). Translucent Lid! Here's some photos of my new addition, I mentioned before it was going to come in a container like a strawberry punnet and when it arrived, I found out just how accurate that was (see photo). The plant was delivered in excellent condition as a result. This plant has some translucency in its lid, it is believed to fool and attract insects by the light shining through. She's Tiny! 👶Couldn't resist sharing a photo of this little baby 👶 Not sure if the photo shows it up but she has tiny hairs around its lid (like a hairy halo😇) and body (to help provide guide rails for ants to walk towards her open mouth!) It's Latin name is Cephalotus follicularis (the second name from the Latin, like hair follicles🧔 as the body looks "bag or sack-like"). Hopefully she'll grow as they can be fussy to propogate, but the sphagnum moss seems to be working as she is already coloring up in the light so couldn't wait till Friday to share🙋💚😍. #greggang #newgrowth #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #freshleaffriday #freshfeaturedfriday

So normally these guys (Celphalotus) are removed from their seedling pots, washed and sent as bare roots wrapped in moss. However, this innovative supplier is using strawberry punnet-like plastic containers so they can put their lids on and be posted as is.
