Krabi Islands Hopping – 1 Day Trip to Koh Hong, Koh Lao Lading & Koh Phak Bia

Krabi is one of the most beautiful provinces of Thailand. It is located 850 km from Bangkok and 150 km from Phuket. Krabi covers an area of 4,708 sq. km. The province includes a part of the mainland washed by the Andaman Sea, 10 large and more than a hundred small islands.

The main boat tours in Ao Nang are precisely the “four island tour” (Phra Nang Cave, Tup Islan, Chicken Island, and Poda Island), the “five island tour” (Hong island and other small islands near it), and, of course, the tours to Phi Phi. Boats running between Ao Nang and the Railay Peninsula, inaccessible from land, are also very popular.

During our stay, we asked for an exclusive tour program because of the time, and our tour operator organized us a speed boat tour to three islands – Koh Hong, Koh Lao Lading, Ko Phak Bia. We think it doesn’t really matter which tour to choose as they all so beautiful, so just consider choosing an option that suits your time and budget.

1st Island: Koh Hong

In the morning, we left our hotel by organized a van to experience the famous Krabi island hopping. We arrived on the first island Koh Hong (Room Island) by boat. We then spend the morning swimming in the lagoon. It was amazing to be surrounded by limestone cliffs and crystal clear blue seawater. We could not say the island was empty, however, our guide said usually there are more people, but due to the pandemic situation, many tourists could not come.

The boat tour company that took us to Koh Hong Island also provided us a lunch! We had varieties of seafood, ranging from prons, squid, to crabs, as well as fried chicken, papaya salad, fried rice, and local fruits as well. The tour experience here was enticing; the seafood was fresh and delicious. We couldn’t hold ourselves back from taking pictures there too.

2nd Island: Koh Lao Lading.

After Koh Hong Island, we continued our island-hopping itinerary to Koh Lao Lading. There, we spent some time and took a glimpse of the place. The terrain is a limestone mountain with cliffs surrounding it with a white sand beach and clear seawater with a quiet atmosphere. Koh Lao Lading is perfect for some relaxing time together.

3rd Island: Ko Phak Bia

From Koh Lao Lading we proceeded to Ko Phak Bia Island. Our last stop had a chilling atmosphere with a beautiful seashore and stunning blue water.

We left the Koh Phak Bia island around 3 PM and headed back to the Phi Phi Tour Pier. Shortly after, we returned to our accommodation to have some nap after an intense day.

In the evening, we went to the Hilltop Ao Nang restaurant to catch a sunset and have some seafood. From the time we entered the restaurant until they brought us food, the attention was excellent; the food was also delicious. After that, we went back to our resort and had a walk around the beach before fall asleep.
